It is 2012 and planning has begun for the 12th annual Grimes Farm Run.  Here is the skinny:

5K Run/ Walk                      
     – $100 prize for 1st Male and Female                                                   
     – $50 prize for 2nd place Male and Female
8+ K Rugged Run/Walk
     -  $100 prize for 1st place Male and Female
     -  $50 prize for 2nd place Male and Female
1.6 Mile Fun Run
The 5K will be the popular mostly grassy trail that goes through a woodland along Linn Creek, up “Heartbreak Hill” through a wetland and finishes in the prairie in full bloom.  Beautiful, often shaded trail.
We offer the 8+ K Rugged Run/ Walk option “weather permitting.”  Check this blog in the weeks before the race to find out if we are able to get in and make the trail suitable for runners.  In the past we have been hampered by either too much water or too much wind downing lots of trees across the path.  It is a very rugged trail –actually a deer path that we widened just a bit!  We cut through a heavily wooded area “on the wild side” of Linn Creek.  The surface will be some grass, mostly mud or dirt–depending on the weather!  There may be a creek crossing.  If you like a challenge, this is your race!
